Anyone know what year these were made? My guess Mid 80's?

I believe I remember these as early as 1974,
might be a slightly different model, but the "other goalie" on my team had one of those and we weren't even 10 years old so they go back that far for sure.

Re: Cooper Full Face

This was the second mask that I ever owned as a kid.

I got it new, in the package from a sporting goods store in Eden Prairie, Minnesota about 1977. It was exctly the same as the one in these photos. I remember that the mask came with adhesive padding pieces to stick on the inside of the mask.

I used to wear it when I'd go to the neighborhood rink to have guys shoot on me. I got hit by a shot, right by the ear one time.

Needless to say, this thing was immediately demoted to street hockey usage ONLY!

As I recall, this particular model was from the mid-seventies. I don't recall seeing any of them out there in the stores past 1978-ish...

Re: Cooper Full Face

Funny I had bid on the exact same one that is currently on Ebay last night and I was outbid. Then this morning I woke up and found in the classifieds Itech and cooper mask $8..

So I called this old man and asked him if this mask had 2 eye holes, he said he wasn't sure that he'd look and phone me back so I thought ahh, I am not going to hear from him again. Then he called and I went and got it this afternoon. I'm really into these small plastic masks. I wish I could find the post on here of the 60's clear Cooper mask. Who ever you are that posted it please re-post it in the Plastics section!

Definitely mid-70's. I painted mine like Gratton's Lion mask. I have to see if I can find a pic.

Here's a pic of my old cooper mask. It was the tan colored one. I just kept on adding things to it. I think it started with the stripes at the top, then ended up with the Lions mouth. It was over 30 years ago, so my memory is "clouded" Image

I owned a few of these---was able to but it up thru the mid 1980's. I still own a really old one, bought as a throw in from a goalie who bought one of my masks, probably in 1991 or so----he just gave it to me. I kept it because it was different--------------same size and shape, but the holes were ROUND not square. Is this an original? or was it thesquare hole mask modified?

Kevin: I'm not 100% sure of your mask but I do know CCM made a version (plastic) very similiar to the Cooper but the CCM had round holes. They are pretty rare. I had one in the 70's as well as a few Coopers. The Coopers are very white in colour and the CCM was more of a bone/eggshell colour and felt a tad thicker than the Cooper. Yours may be a CCM.
