Re: A work in progress. Making my own custom cage combo
Awesome! I like the recessed window and white cage look. IF you do anything other than a white paintjob, you should keep that window trim white and the rest your paint of choice, that's such a classic look, I think it would really complete the overall concept of the mask!

Re: A work in progress. Making my own custom cage combo
Hey Dre75, thats exactly white I'm looking at doing. I'm a really big fan of Greg Harrison's work when it comes to artwork. He keeps the design very simple but at the same time its bold and stands out.
I like the white window border with the white cage. I also love the way Harrion would finish the inside of his masks, when you see one the inside of the mask is as smooth as the outside. It really adds a nice look to the mask and it completes the overall appearance. Its a lot more work but well worth it.
I will be posting more photos of the mask without the cage as well as my backplate.
To dress up the triangles window cut out as well as the edge, I'm using very light skin coats of resin and wet sanding each layer of skin coat with a finer grade of sand paper until its perfect.

And that's exactly how you deal with the kevlar "fuzz" too, clean file or sand it down and then coat the edges with some resin to give it a smooth polished look.
I can't wait to see the finished product, white window trim and white cage... I'm stoked, lol.
