No matter our backgrounds, we're bound to FEEL for Dylan and Jack in Claire Thompson's Masked Submissions. How many of us have become angry after reality has been kicked into our laps? And angrier at the person who dared to kick it there? Eventually, we no longer buck against the "what is" factor -- although we may not be rewarded as deliciously and as erotically as Jack rewards Dylan.
Masked Submissions does erotic romance well. The story does not depend on the physical to pull it off but mixes eroticism with the rise and fall of emotions. We are in the middle of a love story peppered with hopes, fears, anger, and desire -- and spiced with penis punishment, floggers, and binds.
Masked Submissions paints "Club Chained" as a fantasy land, chilling to those of us unfamiliar with BDSM; nevertheless, Claire Thompson's tale illustrates how strength can be displayed gracefully through submission. We applaud Dylan -- and tip our hats to Jack -- who takes us through a journey with a satisfying end.
