Paint Performance
This post is in response to the trouble players were having with the paint during Operation Yellow Scorpion. As many of our regular players know the Marballizer we regularly use during our scenario production’s usually performs with great success. That is why we were as surprised as the players that the paint didn’t perform as efficiently as in the past scenario’s. We contacted Kee Action Sports immediately to inform them of the performance of the Marballizer. Below you will find a statement from our sales rep at Kee Action Sports explaining the reason the paint performed so poorly…
Guys,
I am sorry to hear about the issues some of your players were having at the Scenario Game over the past weekend. I have done some checking as you requested and have figured out what the issue was.
We are at that time of year when we have switched over from winter blended shells to spring shells. Since we make your paint to order just before the event and we did not specify the shell when this was made for you, it was produced with Spring Shell, not the winter shell that probably should have been used, due to the temperature.
It is difficult to forecast the weather this time of year, and had we specified winter shell, we would have been good. If the weather had of stayed in the 60’s like it was the week before the paint would have been fine. There is a very small temperature range that determines the performance and on this occasion it was very close and could have gone either way.
We will continue to work closely with you to ensure that you have the best paint in the world for all your future games.
Sorry for the trouble!!! Look forward to another good year of Scenarios at Outdoor Adventures.
Eric K.
Kee Action Sports
Outdoor Adventures and Kee Action Sports would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the poor performance of the paint during Operation Yellow Scorpion. Please know that we will take all necessary actions to ensure that the we offer the best possible paintballs for all future events. Thanks for your continued support.
Karen Thomas

Re: Paint Performance
OA takes care of its players & that becomes obvious by the quick response to issues like this (especially from the long-standing partners that OA has in the paintball industry).
Now it all makes sense (especially when the paint started performing better in the afternoon). Of course, if the weather had been the same on Sunday as it was on Saturday (highs in the 60s) we would have had no trouble at all.
On the other side of it, the weather had been warmer & we had winter shell paint - that would have been a nightmare as well.
Thanks to OA for always going the extra mile!

Re: Paint Performance
Excellent response time!
We'll just have to keep that in mind when playing during the transition months.
Maybe next time they might err on the side of winter? Am I right in assuming that winter balls would be less likely to break in warm weather?
There might be more welts on us but less mess in our markers/pods. I could live with that.
Thanks for staying on top of this Karen.

Re: Paint Performance
Excellent customer service is another feature at OA that keeps bringing me back. The easier solution is to not acknowledge the problem - thank you for addressing it so quickly!
Probably the weather warming later in the day helped, but after full stripping my marker twice to clean it here's what I did:
- Switched from Apex to straight barrel. (Flatlines, too)
- Aired down to 220. (Less range but most fights were in close anyway)
- Make sure your pods are fully filled and not rattling.

Re: Paint Performance
I found remedy pretty easy in regards to the paint issue. I simple turned down to 254 and the paint shot like a dream, but I always tune my gun too the paint. Good call on that one Fear the Bunny.

Re: Paint Performance
Dont forget Fear the Bunny often uses his nonchalant walk to casually sneak up on people (and then shoot them with his pistol).
Thats his version of up close paintball.
--- I feel sorry for harp players, because they are always inducing in themselves a sense of nostalgia.
