Quick questions about ball speed I noticed that for ball speed it said it had to be under 280. But because of my set up I usually keep a slightly higher ball speed around 350 in order to get enough distance to make my weapon and effective sniper weapon. Is there any chance that exceptions can be made. Or am I gonna be forced to knock it down a couple notches?
Re: Quick questions about ball speed Shooting at this speed is extremely dangerous as most goggles will not stop a ball travelling at that velocity.
OA, and most reputable fields, require all players to chrono their markers prior to entering the field, and once chronoed, your marker will be tagged as such.
You can also expect to be spot checked by refs on the field throughout the day with handheld chronos.
Re: Quick questions about ball speed lol thats crazy no real field would allow that and if they do they are morons.
Theres really no such thing as a sniper in paintball, the markers are not accurate enough. Also its called a gun or a marker, a weapon is something that is used against someone else in a harmful way so a marker should not be classified as a weapon.
Re: Quick questions about ball speed 350 fps for paintball? Ouch that hurts and it hurts a lot. And yes you will have to crank it down and please don't crank it back up afterwards. Players get a bit peeved when getting pasted by someone running a hot marker way over the limit.
As for the sniper role, it is possible but it's not distance that makes the paintball sniper but stealth and concealment. Hard for the first game as there won't be much green on the trees. But wait until the game after that. Lot's of opportunity for a patient player to wreak havoc.
