A great days play and thanks

What a fantastic day of playing paintball, thanks to everyone who turned up and played, certainly saw plenty of A game out there today, lots of 'ballsy' moves and very aggressive yet sportsmanlike play. I heard that the final score was less than 300 points difference and red team started after 45 minutes 900 points down, as Blue team held the castle and found two bonus hidden prizes.

After that red team clawed there way back up and really worked hard on a few retrieval missions, but missed at least one important score due to the blue tank forcing them away from their objectives on the pines section of the field.

The blue tank was eliminated 5 times, twice by Nemesis and once by Riot with two unknowns, the blue tank also tangled with the red tank twice and won both engagements, the second kill was also the best cannon shot in paintball history by shooting a nerf into the red tanks own cannon!

Thanks to OA and thanks to everyone for making my day a really enjoyable one, the best quote I heard all day was a shout from a red player "Thats the blue tank, we are safe that cant drive into pines......holy **** they are driving through pines......run!"

Today was one of the best days of scenario play I have seen at OA. Thanks to all the blue players for giving us some of the hardest fought battles I have been in. Thanks to all of those on red side for playing so hard so we could come back from being down. It was a heart breaker that we missed taking the castle for the first time in OA's three year history of putting on the Battle of the Bulge by a minute or two.

Most of all, congrats to OA for having a record turn out for this scenario. Keep up the good work.

I agree with Hollywood. It was the best scenario play at the OA. Can’t wait for the next BoB. When can we start signing up? ;-)

It was intense all through the day. To all the blue players who were on the rhine river and castle most of the game, great job. We held that river again and again. The best part of the game for me was when I heard that we are holding the rhine, the castle and the town of clervaux and neffe.

The second best was when we push up the rhine river and saw in the corner of my eyes ----the red base!!! A second later, I hear someone yells "30 seconds"… It would have been a hell of a battle, if I hadn’t ran out of ammo a minute later.

The third best was when I was at the rhine river. I saw blue players trying to flank one of the bunkers and I ran to shoot them out. I felt 6 or 7 shots on my body. Thinking that I was out, I was heading back to Rejuv until a nearby medic and another player told me that he didn’t see any paint breaks. Just to be fair, a ref also checked.

To all the red players, great job on breaching the castle. It was a great fire and maneuver strategy. All I saw was players running around the castle. You gave us one hell of a battle.

Great job, OA. Oh yeah, go blue!

Final Score: Blue: 3400 Red: 3100

It was a good day of play. This was the first game where OA hit their player cap of 500. It was a hard fought battle all day. Before the score was announced, there was no clear winner. In fact, I'd thought that red had it by a few points.

Red did an outstanding job of digging in. It was nearly impossible to get you guys out once you were set. You owned us on the Fuel Recovery mission. We absolutely couldn't get you guys out of there. Once we got you out of the Castle and Fuel Refinery, though, things swung our way in the late game.

I want to give credit to the guys who brought in the two props (Patton's Helmet and the Enigma machine). Both props were in my tent while Bastogne was still ours. That put as at 1100 points only 30 minutes into the game.

Hell Katz did an excellent job hustling around the field and helping to motivate the less-experienced players. I look forward to playing with you in the future. You made the MVS decision very easy. emoticon

My tank operators were top-notch, as well. Who else can put a shot THROUGH THE OTHER TANK'S BARREL? I didn't get a chance to thank the tank crew in person.

My engineers were fantastic. They were not-TNT addicts, always coming back for their fix. They commandeered some german not-TNT earlier in the day, so I always had about 4 sticks on the field, ready to be deployed at a moments notice.

Thanks to Jim and Lee for letting my lose my vir-general-ity at this historic game. It was my first time serving as a general, and I learned quite a bit. I also got a glimpse of the hard work behind putting together a scenario game.

I'll see you all at OA's next game.

I agree as well, best day of play at OA yet. Great job Jim, Lee, and everyone else! My only regret was that Dawn and TJ weren't here to see the fun

My first BotB and what a hell of a game it was. Everyone played great and action was intense. Blue team was great, and I didn't see anyone on either team wiping. Sorry to anyone stuck in the refinery when I took it and then retook it on my own. That CQB might've been a little rough on ya. Other than that the only gripe was the reds playing better than ever. Bunker monkey that I am there was more than a few times when I was walking up and down the lines without finding any dead zones to advance in! GGA

Man what a game!! The lines raged back and forth all day; no let-up in the action at all. I even found myself WAY BEHIND the blue lines as I was hidden waiting for the tank (which went somewhere else) and blue overran my hiding spot on their advance to the refinery. Now I know how a sniper feels. Definately the best scenario yet. OA continues to amaze me! Thank you Blue for an intense game and THANK YOU VERY MUCH OA.

Hmmm who would have thought the blue tank would drive somewhere else for a change?

I guess a not so well known OA map that featured the areas the "tank free" zones needs to be thrown away emoticon
