Mission Examples

I will be posting examples of the missions we are running at Battle of the Bulge. The first mission is the most popular and extremely fun.

The Siege of Bastogne

Mission Duration: 30 minutes
Points Value: 500 points

RED Start: The German side (RED) must start ON the circle marked on the Event Map.

BLUE Start: The American side (BLUE) will start with approximately 20% of their troops in Bastogne. The remaining troops (relief force) must start within 10 feet of the field boundary between Andenne and Sedan. Please refer to the Event Map.

Tank Start: The Red Armor will start on the dead end road near their HQ. The Blue Armor will start near the Red Field Entry point.

Mission Objective: The team who has control of Bastogne at the end of 30 minutes shall be awarded the mission points. To gain control of Bastogne, the Germans must respectfully lower the flag of the 101st Airborne in the Castle. If Bastogne is taken, the Americans can "re-gain" control by raising the flag. The flag itself may NOT be removed from the area. The position of the flag at the 30 minute mark will determine the victor!!!

Safety: We are concerned for our players trying to exit the Castle with over 200 players shooting at it. Because of this, a special exit procedure will be used. Referees will be in place to assist players out a designated exit. This exit will be chosen based on activity level. If a player shoots another player using this exit, a penalty WILL be assessed.

Note: Armor and Anti-Armor assets may not be immediately available at "game on". Plan accordingly.

Crossing The Rhine River

The Germans need to block the American advance. To do so, they must prevent them from crossing the Rhine River. German High Command has decided that the bridge over the Rhine River south of Remagen must be blown. The Germans must place timed explosives on the bridge. The timer must be set for 5 minutes and protected until the bridge is brought down. An Engineer is required for this task. The success of this mission is vital to the overall German plan for success!

Jim,

Will castle defenders be allowed to fire from the second floor into the courtyard?

And just for clarification:

Castle defenders are not allowed to shoot people stacked up on the outside wall correct?

Shooting directly down the wall is not permitted, so if you are on the top floor you may NOT lean out and shoot at players below you by the walls. Thats a safety issue, as for shooting at players inside the courtyard from the top floor, I am not sure.

I hope this means you'll be starting in the castle. We'll take so much more pleasure out of taking the castle from you Dead Ringers.

No you are INCORRECT you may NOT SHOOT STRAIGHT DOWN.

Once against the wall a player is safe from attack from above, if ref finds anyone shooting directly down then they will be pulled from the game.

Pretty sure from his context, it was only a typo and he understood you the first time, but never hurts to clarify.
