Mission Examples
I will be posting examples of the missions we are running at Battle of the Bulge. The first mission is the most popular and extremely fun.
The Siege of Bastogne
Mission Duration: 30 minutes
Points Value: 500 points
RED Start: The German side (RED) must start ON the circle marked on the Event Map.
BLUE Start: The American side (BLUE) will start with approximately 20% of their troops in Bastogne. The remaining troops (relief force) must start within 10 feet of the field boundary between Andenne and Sedan. Please refer to the Event Map.
Tank Start: The Red Armor will start on the dead end road near their HQ. The Blue Armor will start near the Red Field Entry point.
Mission Objective: The team who has control of Bastogne at the end of 30 minutes shall be awarded the mission points. To gain control of Bastogne, the Germans must respectfully lower the flag of the 101st Airborne in the Castle. If Bastogne is taken, the Americans can "re-gain" control by raising the flag. The flag itself may NOT be removed from the area. The position of the flag at the 30 minute mark will determine the victor!!!
Safety: We are concerned for our players trying to exit the Castle with over 200 players shooting at it. Because of this, a special exit procedure will be used. On the North side (Route 50) of the Castle there are two doors. One of these doors will be designated as "Exit Only" and be used by eliminated players leaving the building. There will be signage and netting to denote this exit doorway. If a player shoots another player using this exit, a penalty WILL be assessed.
Note: Armor and Anti-Armor assets may not be immediately available at "game on". Plan accordingly.
*** Please note the modification to the German (Red) starting point.

Re: Mission Examples
I'm glad that I'm on the red side, at least for the first half an hour. It seems like the first half hour will be very similar to the final minutes of last years battle of the bulge, I can't wait!!!

Re: Mission Examples
Patton's Prized Helmet
Patton has lost his favorite helmet somewhere on the battlefield. It is important to secure it's immediate return. The lost helmet can be anywhere on the field of play. However, a player will NOT be required to climb, dig or move major objects to find it. If found, return it to your HQ. Red or Blue, you get the points! The helmet will be on display before the game.

Re: Mission Examples
Launch Of The V3 Rocket
The Germans are ready to launch the first prototype of their V3 Rocket. The 30 minute countdown has started. However, the Americans have learned of this event. Whoever controls the rocket when the countdown reaches zero can determine where it strikes.

Re: Mission Examples
Aerial Spy Camera
The Germans have launched a weather balloon with a camera attached. The camera has been taking photos of the battlefield. These photos would be helpful to either side. The balloon was seen coming down near XXXXXXXX. Find the balloon, retrieve the camera and return it to your HQ. By doing so, you will gain points and valuable intel about enemy troop dispositions.

Re: Mission Examples
Crossing The Rhine River
The Germans need to block the American advance. To do so, they must prevent them from crossing the Rhine River. German High Command has decided that the bridge over the Rhine River south of Remagen must be blown. The Germans must place timed explosives on the bridge. The timer must be set for 5 minutes and protected until the bridge is brought down. An Engineer is required for this task. The success of this mission is vital to the overall German plan for success!
