Mines for Return of the Sith

Ok, can we use remote control activated paintball mines for Return of the Sith? And if so, how many can I bring? 5? 10?

Hey Ace. Are you referring to the Master Mine by Major Paintball down in Georgia? I've seen these used and they function well (in warm weather; 12g CO2 loses its punch during the cold months and I suspect that will result in decreased performance in winter for theses mines). Also lack of cover in winter makes 'em harder to hide, especially at OA. Here are some observations that might affect your purchase or thinking:

they only have an effective range of about 25' (yeah, you might get a few drops flying further) and that might/should be less in winter;
using the remote control (a long string) means that you'll be about 50' away from the target (25' range and 25' of string) so why not shoot 'em?;
if you use the tripwire function you'll have a good chance of your own team tripping one, especially if you use 5 to 10 as you posted;
getting hit a close range by one of these is very messy (although highly entertaining for the observers!) and necessitates a trip to the parking lot for cleanup (if you have a nice vest, goggles, etc., it requires a good bit of cleanup);
once it's known that there are mines with tripwires being used, it slows down the game, especially for less experienced players (they see tripwires everywhere).

In short, in my experience and humble opinion, you're wasting your money. Better to invest in radios for your team (that's the Grim Reapers, right?). Communications across the field is the best return for the dollar, after a good mask and reliable gun w/compressed air.

Yeah, master mines but the ones with electronic remote controls to activate the paintball mines.

Re: Mines for Return of the Sith

Hello everyone. This is General Ruby. Just to let you all know. First Red General as I do appreciate the thought and concern of the red team for having someone be a spy that is always good. But on the other hand as you will find out there is no game plan. Anyone who has been a commander for me since day one, has come to know that I don't release my plans until that morning prior to the start of the game due to hacking. We have proven that the fourms and emails are a unsecure way of sending emails. Second; i think spy's are a good thing gets everyone in the mood. But also remember that when you recieve someones plans they may not always be the right one's or agian maybe they gave you up too. People are always tricky and sly. So only recommendation I can give is that, thanks for watching out to keep the game fair but on the other hand I dont' want someones little brother to get in trouble for being a trader. So everything is okay. I still have my plans here for me. But agian thanks for the concern and I look forward to seeing eveeryone out there. General Ruby (GO BIG BLUE)
