B-26 Bomber / Helicopter

I guess the remote control B-26 Bomber or helicopter to dive down and drop nerf rockets on the tanks is out of the question? haha....

I have no problem buying it and rigging it too. But I think Jim doesn't want me to have overwhelming firepower that a Bomber / Helicopter might bring by dropping nerf rockets or raining paintballs out of the sky!

True story from Model Aviation magazine several years ago: modelers used to use soda bottles as pressurized air reservoirs to operate pneumatic retractable landing gear. Needless to say, soda bottles are not meant to be pressurized. In addition to the story about a bottle blowing up in a garage turning the model into wooden shrapnel that stuck into the ceiling and the guy, there was one plane that blew up in the air and started a 3 acre fire at the airfield.

Not to mention the damage a propellor at 10,000+ RPM could do, or a 2,000 RPM heli rotor with 8 times the diameter. Bad voodoo.

Re: B-26 Bomber / Helicopter

Well I know this was brougt up in another post but heres my take on it (Go ahead and corect me where needed) with different Ideas.

Troop Transport: Way to sim. a air drop of troops from a chopper or plane.
Problem: Due to changes in pressure and certain laws, Filled Co2 or HPA tanks are not allowed on board airborne vehicles
Solution - follow general scenario rules and build something to represent the vehicle needed and use or make rules that work for either shooting at it and for deploying troops or whatever. Somehow I think OA is way ahead of me on this so I won't worry about further explainations

2. Bomber or Fighter ment to strafe the field with quick shooting attacks or dropping bombs ( paint grenades).
The Simple more realistic idea ( and probbaly sane and cheaper also) Buld a vehicle that stays on the ground or some prop that someone ( or many people) Carry some grenades or so.

Parts nedded for a Motorized vehicle (Fighter and Choppers)- 2 person vehicle, 1 to drive/ steer a second to handle weapons.
Weapons needed, Semi auto paintball markers: 1 or 2 of them if 2 must be placed togther. Something to represent a very limited use heavy weapon. 1 or 2 loaded Launchers with nerfs to represent Missiles, or (those Who have the money, Time, and patience of making the rig) multiple Grenade launchers (like the spector grenades) to represent a rocket pod (these ideas also prove that I play way to much Ace Combat 4/5 ,heck the entire series, than I should)

Ill post the rest of the ideas latter.

Remote air/helo kinda scares me too...I know we could make a rule that you dont shoot at it, but I am sure some a**hole will think it s funny to try to shoot it down. Last thing I would want it a fuelled model plane on fire slamming into someone...

Re: B-26 Bomber / Helicopter

ok now that Im finally back im adding in a few 2 cents extra and all / continuing last post.

First as badatthis put it, It doesn't matter what it is, if its in the game ( and more importantly on the other team) Its going to be fired at, especially if said object is attacking players of course they will probably fire back.

2nd: the laws. You can't have a preassurized air tank or CO2 tank on board an aircraft for chance of it exploding due to out side preassure change. further more I belive it may be against the law to be tossing things out of an air craft (Some one correct me if Im wrong on that)

3rd. complexity. even with my idea of just a modified vehicle ment to look like one, The rules would have to be different for it. What weapons affect it, What is it limited to carrying? How does it work, move etc etc. can it carry troops, if so Do we say its got to land first ( like it has for the Plane props in the scenario rules) or can the troops do an Air drop? where can it exactly travel and land? (A plane would need a clear area to land, which limits it at OA to some really hi fire areas. while a helicopter or plane with VTOL capabilitys (ospery, Harrier jump jet, F-35 come to mind and if its furturistic what ever one can come up with) where cant hey land. Would these said aircraf have to land at a specified area thats designated as an air base to resupply/refuel, or can it land some where else (for example the Road near the very east side of the scenario fields) and have a supply area there? the list goes on and on.

bassically put, its really hard to decide how this idea would truely work.
