Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
Oh I have the SS ex. on pre-order and will most likely keep it, but to bash the Medi likeness is just funny!

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
To be fair, the SS likeness is spot on and much better without the paint than the Medi looks at this stage. Plus, do you really think the final Medi pieces will look anywhere near those shots when you take yours out of their cardboard prison??? I sure as hell don't.
However, if I get either, it will still be Medi all the way as he looks pretty good to me. As long as they sort out that hat.

I don't think the Medicom likeness is perfect or even outstanding, but with the production paintjob that it's likely to get the SSC one isn't either. The "we can get it repainted" defense isn't really valid as the figures should have decent paintjobs straight out of the box. SSC are continually increasing their prices and as such the quality of things like the paint apps should be improved and not just once in a blue moon, when the wind is blowing in the right direction. It's all about consistency and that's why Hot Toys are currently ahead of the pack. I like elements of both Indy's and will make a decision about which one to get once in hand pics are online. As for Daddy Jones he's pretty much a lock for my collection and providing the sculpt/paint stays the same for production he'll be my favorite Medicom human sculpt.

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
Hear Frakkin Hear mate!
Alas, were they cheaper, I'd get the pair. but as it stands right now, I MIGHT Get Sr. Got a wedding to start saving for, and it's gonna start ( the saving) In q3, and I've got a few EXPENSIVE toys on Pre already, that might get canceled.
Sometimes I wonder if sideshow hiers this guy to paint their figures.
Ah well, atleast I file reapaints under futzing And to be fair, I do agree with what someone said about the paint job on SS Indy making him look less like Harrison Ford, and More like Dave Attel. Could also be the photography, but perhaps it's both. Given the Goofy eyes on Padme ( Not that i had much hope for that one anyways) I'm wondering about their production paint too. perhaps the last few figures, padme excluded are a taste of the things to come, and perhaps not, we will see over the next few weeks, and hope for the best.

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
hmm. which to get. very undecided with these two. think i'll go the bcm77 route and wait for in hand shots of both. gotta admit the medi is looking nice, but the body looks kinda skinny. but the expression looks great as does the proto paint.
will have to wait and see. this time the price difference isn't that huge either so it won't have a bearing on my decision.

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
Maybe when Medicom releases a Jurassic Park Dr. Malcolm figure it'll have Harrison Ford's likeness

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
I love when people say that the likeness looks like so and so. It's all objective as to who is looking at it. If you are looking for Goldblum, then you will see him. Me personally, I love the Medi sculpt a whole lot more, basically it looks sexier. Not that I am into Harrison Ford or Indy(not that there's anything wrong with that) , but the medi looks more stylized, like a work of art, and the Sideshow Indy looks like a toy. I know that others will think the exact opposite of that last statement, but they don't have to look at my figs, I do. So I say to each his own, but if there is a choice between the two for a 1/6 figure, then I say Make Mine Medi!
P.S. I also love that certain medi-haters are all like" His father looks great but he doesn't" they are only saying that because SS isn't doing an Indy SR., if they were, you would see the same people saying how it doesn't look like Connery, and SS is much better, and realistic, yada, yada, yada
