Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
holy crap medicom actually released some figures without that crappy monotone skin. Both figures look great but they won't look nicenext to the HT and enterbay stuff... they look way too thin and the exposed wrist joints really doesn;t help the cause either. I think its about time medicom design a new body. Indy looks way too young even if this is the classic version.

Indy is a nice figure, but falls short due to Hot Toys' recent offerings. HT really raised the bar! You can tell this is a toy, where as HT's figures look almost like a real person.
I know what you mean, but I just think Medi have a different aesthetic, they're kind of proud to be toys and have something of the 'designer vinyl' feel to them, where as HT is striving to make small facsimiles of people.
Like 'em both for different reasons, but HT gets my money everytime.
wook, I think you're being waaay too forgiving. When Medi works on armored or costume figures they tend to make them look like miniature humans too. I don't see the "designer pop culture vinyl" feel to those figures at all. Maybe it's just my opinion but I really think Medicom should just stick to costumes... human likenesses is their weak point.

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
i think with medi you could argue whether its an actual weakness or deliberate design style till the cows come home. my argument would be, if they really are bad at human likenesses why do they sometimes come out with amazing human likenesses on their japanese actor figs (ones that are tributes to great actors and therefore supposed to be more realistic)?
i think if you like medi's style you'd be much more happy with the figures. all depends on what you want out of it.

Yeah I see that.. it's almost as if they put more effort on certain figures because of personal interest.

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
i think you missed my point again. i don't see it as effot because of personal interest. just different styles for different types of figures with different purposes.

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
I'm excited to get Indy. I have a feeling that with a bit of futzing and the right lighting, poses, and angles, this figure will look pretty good in a picture shoot!
Anyway, I'm excited to give it a crack!

Anyone here get their Medi Indy yet?
I think mine shipped a few days ago.
Today my Ark came, it's... kinda tacky looking, actually!

Re: Medicom Indiana Jones & Daddy Jones
With all the arguments over Medicom's work, one could really advocate that they have transcended being mere figures and have become true works of art. After all, the way that some people fawn over them and some people bash them, I'd say it's safe to put them in that category.
