I'm OK (ish) about engine transpants if they are:-
1. A Honda lump as well.
2. Fully reverseable - no not that it has a reverse gear(!) I mean you can go back to a S800 engine later on if you want.
anything is possible but the plans are to keep this car for the rest of days. iv'e done loads of projects only to sell them a few years later. sometimes i wish that i never sold them on but thats the way it goes
the great thing about the S800 is the smallness so storage is not so much of a problem
once i am happy with the conversion then there will be parts available for others to use in their restorations

Re: fitting an alternative engine
your right about 2 things 1st, me to this car along with my '94 Jeep Cherokee limited, will be with me till i die ( what cheery thoughts)
and 2 i can fit three cars in my two car garage, thankfully my wife has a Citroen C2
so the S600 fits across the back wall, the C2 noses up to it and the Jeep can sit on the other side.
very snug but safe from the elements

Re: fitting an alternative engine
Wow what a difference between this same subject on a US based S600 news group.
I remember last year this subject was brought up by someone requesting dimensions of the S600 engine bay because he was interested in going the F20C/F22C (S2000 engine) conversion.
He was flamed so badly I hope he had he's FIA approved fireproof garments on underneath!
The replies to he's post were obviously from purist S600 enthusiasts not wanting another S600 'ruined', personally I thought similarly to some earlier thoughts as long as it puts another "spares or repairs" car back on the road and at least its still all Honda.
Blackbird conversion would be my personal choice if I had to choose something non-original

Blackbird engines and fireblade engines are mega bucks as everyone wants the best for their Radicals etc.

Re: fitting an alternative engine
Surely recent R1 and GSX-R's are what Radicals and Caterfield/Westhams go for now-a-days.
Honda blackbird and fireblades were 'hot' a good few years back but are now comparitively low on power and torque compared to the Yamaha and Suzuki's
A quick search on ebay UK and complete engine kits, Thats for engine, looms, security keys etc. They're not as expensive as I first thought £500~£1000. Not too bad I think.

Ewen
it was working when i looked but now it's gone
sadly there was nothing really to see, no decent pictures
just have to wait for mine to be done
i'm being given a knackered gearbox, and been promised the loan of a blown engine so i can make all the nessesary mounts and modifications etc before i go out and buy a good engine
watch this space
p.s. Ewen have you figured out how to post pictures yet, cant wait to see yours
