Classic Rock Night @ Rock Bottom 14th May 2006
HI All,
Was quite sad to see a poor turnover at the gig last night. Not too many familiar faces, nothing much happening.
Maybe cause its exam season for some.
Anyway, the gig was great! We had a surprise start to the show with a band called "LEFT" Very interesting Blues jam they did and i wish the band a lot of success.
Next up was Echoes with a set comprising of
Perfect strangers - Deep Purple
Mistreated - Deep Purple
Wasted Sunsets - Deep Purple
Coming Back to life - Floyd
Comfortably Numb - Floyd
Another Brick in the wall - Floyd
Breathe & Time - Floyd
Roadhouse Blues - Doors
Insomnia - Original
The songs were slightly fast paced for some reason, but i guess when performing live a lot of songs do become fast paced.
Many thanks to Sameer and Chintan for organising this event and giving us this wonderful opportunity.
Cover Story was up next and took everyone way back into time with the Doobie Brothers, then did some Eagles, then further into time with Alanis & Cranberries, and then into the future with Linkin Park.
For the Grand Finale, there was "VAYU" - The Gods of Classic Rock - according to me - please don't take this as a projective statement - but the fact is they came, they saw, they conquered and they are still leading the way....(man I always wanted to say that!!)
I left before they ended their set as I had some personal work back home... but this is the story so far!
Lastly.....our Rock scene could be much bigger if we had a more willing audience who could push up the bar sales without complaining for paying an entry cause without this - bands don't get paid and have nothing to look forward to. Thus you see Rockers wither & fading away, joining corporate jobs or divulging into remixes and bollywood for a better living.
Hope my comments are understood and taken positively.

...and a Big Thank You to Schubert for being so generous when my bass quit on me. I'm now in the market for a Fender...
Also a shout out to Manoj(Drums), Amitesh(Guitar) and Salil(Keyboards). The Bm/C6/E7 was something...!
PS: Schubert, my offer still stands. I will be your slave for life.
