I'm aware that PRIMARILY you guys are a thrash metal band from heresay (people all around the venue that I spoke with and your band description in a couple of forums), but I wasn't around to see you guys play either. I caught the last 3 acts. I refrained from commenting about your musical prowess at RAIT for that very reason. Since I wasn't there, I cannot comment. Also, initially I mentioned that this gig catered to the metalheads by and large. I also listed subgenres of metal that were PRIMARILY the flavour for the night in my first post. I didn't mean to generalise or slot your band within a specific genre. I'm not big on metal anyway, apart from some industrial, nu-metal, ol' school heavy, power and thrash and melodic doom/death metal. Metal is the keyword here, and I'm sure you got what I meant to say so what are you trying to achieve by dissecting my post and weighing each and every word, I don't get. I can't possibly list every metal subgenre that there is. The meaning of what I was saying was correctly conveyed and you got it, I'm certain. For the record, feel free to inform us about your setlist.
You accused us of creating some "chit controversy" which I have accordingly replied to and have since dismissed your accusation. There's no bad blood over it, so is this your attempt at making fun of us because I retorted back?
Geez. I try holding my own and I get a cheap shot. Look, I didn't mean any offense, for the fourth time already. Relax. Peace.

i dont think anyone is trying to offend anyone...you said something...even though way too long...some people did read the entire thing...and coz of the lack of anything better to do...people reply to things they think werent right...
you said the gig was catered for metal bands...what do you do when you organize a gig and only metal bands register???...i dont know if you are aware...but the guy who organized this times competition was the vocalist of silent lucidity which im mostly sure aint a metal band..even last time when 14/17 bands were metal..its not coz the organizer(bassist of an alt rock band..again silent lucidity) loves metal!!..why wouldnt he be in a metal band then??..
again...this is just random discussion...not to piss of anyone..so chill!!!

Re: RAIT Unchained 2K7

Hey there
@ "We are colossus"
..m the drummer for PipeDream...u were not convinced with my argument just as i wasnt with the organizers!
We told chakku a day before the event that our bassist is working that day n wont be able to make it to the venue by 6,so we asked if we they could reconsider the slot.
The next morning chakku called and said we will draw chits n then whoever gets the first place, goes first.
Then we reach the venue n things have changed..we are "arbitrarily" sloted to go first.
So we had our own dilemma just like u guys had one. There wasnt no "chit-controversy" dude..this was our 1st act together,we are beginners n definately cant manipulate or throw our weight around.
Do let us know when are guys playing next..2 years back i saw u guys cover megadeth, maiden n stuff..good to hear u have moved on to progressive metal. Will definately come,if not then will keep the cutting chai ready emoticon

@pagan
ur right there dude...the organizers cant help but register the entires they get.No issues with metal bands registering or playing at all.But the best way to judge all the rock events would be by having a person who IS open to all genres of rock n understands the genre. "A Sessions Musician as a judge would be the way to go". Again not putting down Sahil's effort and good deed to come all the way to Nerul to judge an event wherein the other judges had backed out.

At last...phew emoticon
For this event we had speakers, mixers, cables but "NO SOUND ENGINEER"...mixing n getting a good clean, tight sound for a Metal/Thrash/Extreme aint ****ing easy.
All we could hear was Double bass..the guitar n vocals were lost..the sound was MUddy.

So Brothers Peace out. Looking Fwd to Play with all our local bands amchi mumbai.

@ Wearecolossus

You hated us and you want me to sponsor your cutting chai?!
   Hah! Fat chance emoticon
Yes, Rahul is the eternally gracious type. He will buy you some cutting. I am unsporting in that regard, no chai for you emoticon

@ pagan109

True, it was long. That's why the statutory warning in the beginning, regardless of whether you cared to read or you read it for lack of a better thing to do.
Also, since you did take out the time to read for which I am grateful, I wonder as to why you misquote me. I did NOT say "the gig catered to metal bands". I said, "the gig catered to metalheads". The gig itself comprised the metal bands largely dude, it cannot cater TO them. When you cater, you are the provider of something. What you are catering to, is the recepient of what you provide. Metalheads = listeners who dig metal in its myriad forms. Essentially that the metalheads were enjoying themselves thoroughly that evening.
I think there'd be a lynch mob awaiting me, had I said, "this gig catered to metal bands." emoticon That IS wholly untrue. That's basically saying that the judge/organisers deliberately chose metal bands over bands representing other genres. And for Pete's sake dude, I did NOT say that.
So your point is basically rendered pointless, my friend :P No condescendence meant but I'm not risking being miscontrued/misquoted again for no reason.
Baaki, I did not take offense to anything that's been said here. This, to add to what Rahul said, tells you what I meant. We have another gig coming up shortly, we've just started and we're graduating on to tougher genres. Those who don't like us may stay home, no issues.
Cheers.
