Rocktaves BITS Pilani 2008
Rocktaves, the most prestigious campus rock fest in the country has gotten bigger then ever. Last year, the event was judged by Luke Kenny of Channel [V] and Sam Lal of Rolling Stone Magazine. The winners, Hypnosis got a wild-card entry into the next edition of [V]'s Launchpad, and the songs of the participating bands were played on RadioVerve (www.radioverve.com). This year, we have prizes of around Rs. 1 lakh up for grabs, in addition to various other incentives for bands from all over the country to turn up - we are in talks with record labels to provide record time for winners and we are trying to get the travel for bands re-imbursed. Also, SplitRadio (http://splitradio.in) will air the songs of the final shortlisted bands online.
Other events include Axetacy (guitar solo event) and Unplugged (competitive acoustic band event), each with huge prizes to be won, and a Guitar Workshop by a guitarist of repute. Our pro-nites, or the prof shows (headlining acts) feature some of the best Indian bands around, who in addition to performing, will judge the rock show. Updates will be posted.
Hope this gets the bands from Mumbai interested.
Rules:
1.Bands will get 25mins including sound check.
2.Need to send in their demo tapes(mp3's) and short description of the band, including all members LATEST by 10th October 2008.
3.Professional sounds to handle the event.Drum kits will be provided. 4.Professional judges. Elims and finals held on consecutive nights
5.The shortlisted bands need to note the elims start on the 21st october and that they have to report in 24hrs beofre scheduled time. 6.Accomodation will be provided.
7.FINAL decision regarding any matter lies in the hands of the organizers.
8.NO REGISTRATION FEES
9. Music of ANY language is welcome. Bands from all parts of the country can apply.
