Predestination
Ok, here we go. I’ll just throw out some of what I’ve heard John MacArthur say that makes pretty good sense regarding this issue.
Quote: If you deny election, you've denied something in the Bible. If you deny the choice of man, you've denied something in the Bible. We don't understand, and cannot make them meet in the middle without destroying them both.
Which is correct, Election, chosen by God, predestination -or- free will, human volition, choice and accountability? The answer is Yes.
John Murray - Theologian at Westminster Seminary says that there is an apparent paradox in every major Biblical doctrine.
Who wrote Romans, Paul or God? Yes
Was Jesus God or man? Yes
Divine tension - just leave it there. The Bible teaches both, and we cannot comprehend it because we're not God.
And if that's not good enough for you, I found this on a board a long time ago, and thought it made about as much sense of the two as can be made from this side of eternity.
--- I know who saved my soul and I want this world to know, that I was once blind, once lost, Now I'm blood bought, reconciled to God by the blood He shed on the cross. -Eternal M.o.G.

That about sums it up for me.
--- Peace, that brief period in history when everyone stops to reload.
