Prophecy, Book of Revelation
Since Prophecy, and the Book of Revelation are such an exciting topic to study. I was wondering if it would be OK to start up with such a topic here? Please?
Thank you,
MA

BTW, Revelation is singular, there is no "s" after the "n". OK?
In our Book of Revelation Bible Class, we're studying out of J. Vernon McGee's [The Prophecy] Revelation series of books. So far, we've covered Jesus, and the seven churches in McGee's "Revelation: Chapters 1-5"...and now we're into Chapters 6-13. The latter covers so far; the Rapture of the Church, and we're beginning to learn more about the great 7-year Tribulation Period.
And what we've learned so far, the Tribulation Period certainly won't be any picnic to live through, that's for sure. That's when this so-called great leader, in the form of the Antichrist, will be unleashed to wreck havoc on the world. Infact, it's going to be hell on earth! For God is going to exact the same plagues he unleashed in Moses' day, on to our modernday generations.
Have you read or seen the "Left Behind" series of books & films (with Kirk Cameron)? The current one is titled--Left Behind: World at War. I have both the first two on DVD.
I also own Hal Lindsey's "VANISHED! Into Thin Air" book as well.

You have all three of the Left Behind DVD movies...including World at War!?! Cool!!!
Because our book & video store is in the act of moving into their brand new larger store in town, I have yet to go down there to pick up my copy of WAW. I think that I'll wait until after Christmas to do so.
Meanwhile, I'll have the Van Impes' "Revelation Revealed" (on DVD) and the companion book, on order. Tomorrow, when I go to our weekly Tuesday Bible Class, I'm going to stop by our local post office to purchase a money order for it.

Re: Prophecy, Book of Revelation
oops Actually, we only Have “Left Behind” and “Left Behind ll”. We’ve been waiting for the last one to become available in the stores. I had forgotten about that!! I feel silly not realizing that till now.
We’ll have to make a trip to the Christian Book store and see if they have it.
We also have, Tribulation, Judgment, Revelation, Apocalypse and an old one, “Barabbas” with Anthony Quin. Oh, and “The Ten Commandments” with Charlton Heston, old time favorite, hehe. I know it isn’t accurate but I just love anything about Moses, he’s one of my favorites!!
The two guys that wrote the “Left Behind” series has a new book out, “Regime”, I can’t wait to read it. I was going to get it at Wal-Mart last weekend but hubby shops like there’s a fire in the store, walked right past the book section.
If I lag in the book section he takes off without me knowing, I look up to see him gone. I have to see if I can spot his big old head moving over the clothes racks, hehe, he’s tall.
Lori;… “wreak?” wutchu talkin bout Willis? I musta mist sumpin. epsi is pepsi all y'all got here?
God bless

Re: Prophecy, Book of Revelation
Winkks, here are a couple more you don't have, and they are:
Franco Zeffirelli's Jesus of Nazareth, starring Robert Powell as Jesus - for which he does an awesome job portraying; and Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, starring Jim Caviezel also as Jesus, for which he too is awesome! I have both of them on DVD.
I drove by where Hastings, my favorite book & video store once was, only to discover that Sears has moved into their former locale. Evidentally, they've already moved into their new store.
In keeping with the topic of my thread...I am wondering if you guys ever watch the TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) channel, or atleast have a satellite TV so you can get it? Because I highly also recommend Pastor John Hagee. His sermons are instep with Bible prophecy too.
As is Dr. Joe VanKoevering's Behind The News. He now has a book out that is titled "The Pope, The Prophecy, and The Promise". In this book, he backs up the late Pope John Paul II's prediction, that after the current Pope Benedict the 16th, there is going to be one more pope appointed to take his place. It is he who is predicted to be in cahoots with the soon-to-be Antichrist; Rome, the eternal city, situated geographically upon seven hills (Revelation 17:9), reigning over the kings of the earth (17:18). It will become *the* predicted false church Mystery Babylon the Great, is called the Mother of Harlots (Revelation 17:3-5), it will form a partnership with Islam. Then this system will fall from its pure position and become a harlot.
Here is where to write for his above book:
God's News
P. O. Box 10475
St. Petersburg, FL 33733
Please don't shoot the messenger, guys! I know it's big shocker...but, I only told you what all I learned from Dr. Joe. OK?

Re: Prophecy, Book of Revelation
I've studied Revelation some because growing up Catholic and seeing Hal Lindsay's Late Great Planet Earth when I was WAY too young, I was terrified of it! I really like things I find from Calvary Chapel in fact, somewhere I even read there's a lot of ex-Catholics there. Then again, the church I attend has a lot of ex-Catholics. I found out I'm not the only one that misses midnight mass on Christmas Eve BUT would I go back? NO!
Searchlight with Pastor Jon Courson is an excellent site, he has in depth studies on every single book of the Bible. Going through his Revelation study taught me how the ancient Babylonian beliefs crept into the church of Rome. But I have had conviction about the grave error of marking everyone in a religon as lost. I've heard from some that were in Catholic churches and born again and chose not to pray to Mary or saints or all the other nonsense.
For us all to be the church of Philadelphia... (I hope I'm remembering correctly!) for they're the ones that had NO correction, the ONLY one.
Not only do the 7 churches spell out current churches but also church history and they can represent the different stages a person can go through in their walk.
God showed me I don't need to be terrified.
