God sent his Son...........
..........to bear the sins of the world, not just our past sins but the sins past , present and future sins. Children of God , stop putting Christ back on the cross over and over.

Re: God sent his Son...........
I couldn't agree more brother gary!
I think some brothers and sisters may "feel" insecure about salvation.
Maybe because it's so simple that there must be more to it. Wanting to "help". To me... this is doubting what was sacrificed, not really understanding the totality of that sacrifice... and also the understanding of "finished", which was one of the last words our Savior said. Praise God!!!!
This is what the "good news" is all about!!!! Otherwise there would be, "good news-bad news", which one do you want to here first? That you were saved through the blood of the sacrificial lamb of God, or the bad news.... that you have to "work" hard to keep what was given to you... through a torturous sacrifice?
Leaning to our own understanding can rob us of the "secure wisdom and understanding" of our salvation.
Our own understanding can keep us "from" being save, but once we are sincerely saved, our walk in Him begins and this is where our faith gets busy "working". Not to keep our salvation! How ludicrous! But to build our faith to be what we were called to be, an affective witness for Christ!
====
Satan loves nothing better than for us to doubt the power of the ultimate sacrifice!
(I love your new smilies!!!!)

Re: God sent his Son...........
I know what the bible says about "free will" but I've never heard of a religion built on it. This is the first I've heard of "free will" in these terms. Maybe I'm misunderstanding it but this sounds like an "indecisive mind".
I think it's more important to "live" in the Spirit which guides us through "God's will" in our lives. This is the "will" I desire and where my heart concentrates.
The rest is man's wisdom as far as I'm concerned.
I'm not saying I'm right and what I say is law because there's only one truth, one path, one way, and that's the "will" of God through Jesus.

I have never dug into the history of the Free Will Baptist, but i do know they believe in the death, burial, resurrection, trinity, etc. etc. They just believe you loose your salvation if you sneeze wrong.
